Thomas Batt
May 10, 1946 – July 2, 2026

Thomas Roy “Tom” Batt, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 2, 2026. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Born on May 10, 1946, in Cordell, Oklahoma to Thomas Rudolph and Sylvia (Perkins) Batt, Tom lived a life defined by hard work, dedication and deep love for family, his land and the outdoors.
Tom graduated from Cordell High School with the Class of 1964. Known as Roy to his family and lifelong friends in Cordell, he enlisted in the United States Air Force following graduation and was later deployed to Kunsan, South Korea, where he served as an electric power line specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1968, earning numerous awards and commendations for his service.
Following his enlistment, Tom attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1973. He later completed a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University in 1978.
Tom began his career as an accountant with Conoco in 1973. He dedicated nearly thirty-two years to the company, serving in several management positions throughout his tenure until his retirement in 2004. Even in retirement, Tom continued to share his knowledge and experience, working with Mertz for a short time and later joining Consolidated Oil Well Services from 2011 until the closing of its Ponca City office.
While Tom enjoyed a successful professional career, his heart was always on the farm. For many years, he operated a cow/calf operation and took immense pride in the land and animals he cared for. He treasured time spent hunting and fishing, especially with family and friends. He was also known for his quick wit, mischievous spirit, lifelong love of Willie Nelson, and a garage so clean you could eat off the floor.
Tom married Phyllis Powers in 1968, and they welcomed three daughters: Lori, Amy, and Niki. On March 10, 1990, he married the love of his life, Gracie Hargraves. Together they shared 36 wonderful years of marriage.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gracie Batt; his daughters, Lori Munger, Amy Davidson (Michael), and Niki Milacek (Jason); his stepdaughters, April Ables (Bob) and Angie Hargraves; his granddaughters Sydney Munger, Claire Milacek, and Olivia Milacek; his grandsons, Tacoma Tipton (Kennedi) and Carson Tipton, whom he loved and raised as his own, Ford Milacek, and Cale Carson (Amber); and his great-grandchildren, Colbie Carson and KJ Carson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and grandson, Brandon Carson.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City.
