Tammy Lynn Mayden passed away on August 2, 2026, at the age of 67 years old. She was surrounded by her loved ones who will continue to carry on her legacy.

Tammy was born October 13, 1958, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She graduated from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the place she loved most. Eventually, she found her way back to Blackwell, where she met and married Darrell Mayden. She went on to become a teacher for a short period of time, where she found a passion in helping those who could not help themselves. She went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, and would discover her passion in counseling—her true gift in life to others. She had a way of helping people when no one else knew how. She worked with the youth, and the court system, to help them find peace and understanding with their lives.

For many years, she ran the Blackwell Youth Center, where she touched the lives of those who passed through its doors. She would involve herself in many programs such as the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Mini-Mes, Peer Helpers, “The Night of the Life and Death Choices”, and 10 Steps of Jesus. She would assist in several supply and hygiene programs, helping source backpacks, essential toiletries, and winter clothing. She would also help with mock wrecks, arts and crafts, and running a Christmas Store.

These programs touched so many people who loved and adored her for her amazing gifts. Tammy was a pillar of the community and her passing will be felt by so many people in it.

Tammy was the daughter of Gary Bringham, who preceded her in death, and Shirley Bringham. She is survived by her mother; brother, Terry Bringham and his wife Jerri of Tampa, Florida; her sister, Robin Bringham of Blackwell, Oklahoma; her ex-husband Darrell Mayden; and her four children: Donnie Mayden, Jessica Mayden, Gary Mayden and wife Megan, and Austin Mayden and wife Kara; five grandchildren: Emma Mayden, Nora Mayden, Olivia Mayden, Theo Mayden, and Eden Mayden.

A Celebration of Life for Tammy will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 7th, 2026, at the Blackwell Tabernacle, with Rev. Cliff Johnson officiating.
