Sharon Bass

On September 29, 2026 Sharon Rose Bass (Brown), age 75, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

This bright light was brought into this world on July 07, 1951 in Dumas, Texas, to parents’ Paul Brown and Shirley Brown (Byrd). She was the oldest of six children. Sharon grew up in Nardin, Oklahoma and graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1969. You could find her nose in a book most of those days as a child, as she learned to read at a very young age. Sharon lived a life deeply rooted in family and her faith, her love for Jesus Christ. Her love and devotion for family, friends and anyone she came to know was selfless. She was the devoted wife of Clyde H. Bass for 48 years. Clyde passed this year on February 23. She lovingly referred to him as “My honey Clyde”. Sharon was a devoted Mother to James Bass (Ponca City, OK) & Harold Bass (Tulsa, Ok). Sharon was also very devoted to her sisters’ Joyce, Patricia, Debra, and brothers’ Hershel & Jerry.

Sharon modeled a servant’s heart in all she did. She was an RN and retired after 25 years of service for The Kay County Health Department. She gained many friendships throughout her career.

Sharon was a devoted member of Faith Tabernacle Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Pastors Don & Norene Stanton provided her with comfort and support. Many years of her life she was a Sunday School teacher.

Sharon is survived by; all her siblings: Joyce Romine (Brown), Patricia Scrimsher (Brown), Jerry Brown, Debra Ramsey (Brown), all of Ponca City, Ok, Hershel Brown & wife Kristi of Yukon, Ok; Sister-in-law Vickie Bass of Ponca City, sons’ James & Harold; grandchildren Austin, Taylor, Jax, Eric, & Kenny; numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; & husband Clyde.

We gather together to celebrate her life on Monday, October 05, 2026 at Faith Tabernacle Church, 2:00 P.M. Located at 501 S. 5th Street, Ponca City, Oklahoma. The viewing will be at the church, before the service, 12:15-1:45 P.M.
