Patrick Warrior

Patrick Winter Hawk Warrior left this place for another on May 31, 2026 in Ponca City, OK. He was our son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson, Nephew and Friend.

Patrick Winter Hawk Warrior (Gthe Tha Zhinga: Little Hawk) was born the son of Charles and Leah Warrior, in Ponca City, OK on December 6, 2001. He was an enrolled member of the Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma, and a descendant of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma. He grew up in Ft. Oakland, cruising the Vill with his Brothers and Sisters, throwing discs with his Dad and Uncles, playing basketball in the gym, hanging out at the JOM building, and participating in community events. He was never far from home, because he was surrounded by relatives who welcomed him and loved him as their own. Patrick attended Tonkawa Schools, and played baseball, football, basketball and wrestled; he was in the band, playing the bass drum and (unbeknownst to his parents) the trombone.

Patrick entered the arena at a young age, and began carrying water and fancy dancing at the age of 3! He was a respectful youth who quickly became well-known in his own community as well as neighboring tribal communities. He attended Ponca Indian Methodist Church, and was a member of Norman First American Methodist Church. Pat was a gamer, a music-lover, a disc player; he was funny, quick-witted and loved to tease. He was loved by all who knew him, and his light shined brightest in his role as a Brother and protecter; he loved his siblings and created a small army to stand behind his Mama and John as they navigate life without him. Pat also introduced his Best Friend, Bailey Buxton, to his family and leaves behind 3 grandchildren for his parents to love and cherish; Sophia Buxton, Stormy Kemble, and Sundance Buxton.

Patrick was preceded in death by his Dad, Charles Star Warrior, and his Sister, Sophia Louise Warrior. He leaves behind in the home his parents, John and Leah Harper; and his four-legged bestie, Bane. Maternal Grandparents, Clint Primeaux and Cheryl Roughface. Maternal Aunt/Uncles: Patti and her Companion, Dennis Buffalohead; Tim and his Companion, Brenda Standsblack; Albert Primeaux and Velda Rocha. Siblings: Jalen Kemble, Vicente Warrior, Mah-ah-Zhinga Primeaux, US Army SPC Thomas Primeaux, Victor Valdez, Rodney Cerre, Justin Mitchell, Teska Burris, Noah Smith, Odi Brown Jr., Eugene Brown, Anecia Warrior, Kaydyn Kemble, Hailey Primeaux, Zoie Primeaux and a multitude of (cousins) Sisters/Brothers whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents: James C. Warrior Sr, and Eugenia Brown. Survived by Paternal Aunts/Uncles: Louise Beard, Margret (Antonio) Ricario, William Daugomah, Harrison (Leah) Daugomah, Fred (Juanita) Warrior Sr., Sarah Warrior, James C. (Michelle) Warrior Jr., Roller C. (Leanna) Warrior Sr, Lila Warrior, Mildred Warrior, Sadie Warrior, Lamont Warrior, Ashton Warrior and a multitude of (cousins) Sisters/Brothers whom he loved dearly.

Pat's life was cut short, but he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and family that will ensure that his light never dims, and he is never forgotten. He was lent to us for a time, and we will see him again; your job here is done Son. Rest easy, we will take it from here.

Special thanks to the Southern Plains Tribal Health Board CHA/P team, Leah's CHA/P instructors and classmates, Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma, Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma, Tonkawa Powwow Committee, Tonkawa JOM Director,-Christy Ronald, and the White Eagle Health Center, WEHC-Behavioral Health Dept, Hope and Recovery staff and everyone who came, called, prayed and loved Patrick.
