Nancy (Rendel) Dick, 89, of Ponca City, passed away on August 13, 2026. A Memorial Ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00PM at Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Those unable to attend the Funeral Ceremony, may attend virtually on the Trout Funeral Home website, www.troutfuneralhome.com and click on the live-stream or toolbar icon on the top right corner after 12:45 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Nancy, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Homer Paul and Evelyn Estelle (O'Mealey) Rendel on November 27, 1936. She was raised in Kaw City, Oklahoma, where she developed a deep love for her family, her community, and the simple joys of life.

Nancy married her childhood sweetheart, William “Bill” Eugene Dick, in September 1953. Together, they built a loving family and shared many wonderful memories throughout their marriage. Nancy and Bill especially enjoyed square dancing together during their younger years.

Nancy was a woman who dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a loving and amazing wife and mother of five children and spent many years caring for children and families. She worked as a Pink Lady at Ponca City Hospital and Lake Charles Hospital for more than 30 years. She also worked at a plant nursery, as a certified tax assistant, and as a teacher’s assistant.

Her faith was an important part of Nancy’s life. She was a member of the Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, served as a Sunday School Coordinator, and helped in the church nursery. She was also a member of Rainbows, Eastern Star, and the Pink Lady Volunteers.

Nancy treasured her time in Kaw City and spent nearly every weekend and vacation there helping her parents on the farm. She loved gardening and raised a very large garden, spending countless hours tending, picking, and canning vegetables. She was known for giving much of what she grew-often as much as 60 percent-to neighbors and friends.

Nancy had a generous heart and never hesitated to help someone in need. She was known to give her own meal to an unexpected guest who arrived at dinner time. Her family remembers her as a mother who made sure her children had hot meals, good clothes, warm beds, and, most importantly, plenty of love. She spent many sleepless nights listening to and advising her children whenever they called.

Nancy never stopped caring for children. From a young age, she watched her younger cousins, and throughout her life she continued caring for her own children, children at church, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love and nurturing spirit touched generations of her family.

Nancy is survived by her children, Diana Kay Dollarhide, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Curtis Eugene Dick and wife, Debbie Dick, of Luther, Oklahoma; Karen Elaine Horne and husband, Alton Horne, of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; and David Paul Dick of Ponca City, Oklahoma and grandchildren Rick Dollarhide, Bill Dollarhide, Carisa Boyd, Keith Garrett, Colby Dick, Brian Dick, Elaine Sandoval, Shelby Beathard, Curtis Horne, Laurra Horne, Patrick Horne, Brittany Horne, Trent Horne and Ariel Dick. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lu Ann Garrett; her husband, William “Bill” Eugene Dick; her parents, Homer Paul and Evelyn Estelle Rendel; and sons-in-law Richard Dollarhide and Clyde Garrett.

She leaves behind a legacy of love that continues through her 14 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with countless family members, friends, and others whose lives she touched.

Nancy will be remembered for her generous heart, her strength, her unwavering love for her family, her faith, her willingness to care for others, and the many ways she quietly made life better for all those around her. Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply and the generations who will carry her memory forward.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
