Michelle Martin

Michelle was born on July 13, 1981, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Jimmy Beard and Sherri Drake. She was later adopted and raised by her stepfather, Jimmy Summers, who raised her as his own. Michelle graduated from Tonkawa High School and would later relocate to Amarillo, Texas. Michelle had a tremendous work ethic which led to her starting her own residential and commercial cleaning business.

Michelle had a kind and beautiful spirit. She radiated positivity with a fierce smile and the gentlest of hearts. Her smile captivated rooms and her laugh was infectious. Michelle left an impression on everyone she met, and to say she never met a stranger was putting it lightly. One conversation or chance meeting and she would draw you in. Michelle was literally beautiful inside and out and left an impression on everyone.

Family was Michelle’s everything. From her children and grandchildren to the love she shared with Duran’s children and grandchildren upon meeting them, nothing held a chance to the love she had for them. She welcomed her bonus family into her family with open arms and never missed a chance to let them know how much she loved every single one of them. Saying “I Love You” at the end of a call was non-negotiable, or you could expect a call back. Michelle loved decorating for the holidays so the family could gather and celebrate, usually ending in a game of Wahoo. She never needed a reason to go shopping, as she was the queen of shopaholics.

Michelle was preceded in death by her grandparents; and a brother, Jimmy Dale Summers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved soul mate, Duran Guzman; daughters, Kristin Martin (Sebastian) and Jadyn Guzman (Louis), sons, Kaleb Martin (Avery), Jarrett Martin, Laydon McCullough (Destiny), Chasen Guzman, and Nathan Guzman; her father Jimmy Beard and wife Mindy Beard of Blackwell; her parents, Sherri and Jim Summer of Jenks, Oklahoma; sister, Kandi Summers (Kevin); brother, James Summers (Tracy); four grandchildren, Rylan, Romilly, Elias, Ezariel; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and cherished friends.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:30 am at the Tonkawa First Christian Church 201 W Grand Ave, Tonkawa, OK 74653.
