Mark Mott

Mark Dwayne Mott, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, passed away on August 13, 2026, at the age of 55.

He was born on May 1, 1971, in Hanford, California, to Gary Dwayne and Edith Marie (Rogers) Mott. Mark graduated from Dustin High School in 1989. After graduation, he spent the summer working in California before making his way back home to Dustin. In May 1991, he married Kristi Crawford, and on October 10, 1991, he welcomed his beloved daughter, Marissa, lovingly known to him as “Poopie Girl”.

In 1992, Mark moved to Florida, where he worked for Mulliniks Construction. In 1996, he returned to Dustin and began working for Okemah Construction, marking the beginning of his life in pipeline work. In 2000, he joined Geeding Construction, where he dedicated 26 years of hard work and service.

In 2009, Mark met the love of his life, Tonya Dawn, and gained three sons: Jacob, Cody, and Ryan. On July 14, 2016, Mark and Tonya were married in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Mark was the kind of man who could honestly do it all. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his many talents, and the love he had for those closest to him.

Mark is survived by his wife, Tonya, of the home; his daughter, Marissa and husband Michael Absher of Dustin, Oklahoma; his sons, Jacob and wife Stori Plush of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Cody Plush of Williston, North Dakota, and Ryan Locke of Newkirk, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Serenity, Brody, Maverick, Laramie, and Avlynn; his brother, Billy Mott of Newkirk, Oklahoma; and his nephews and niece, William, Ella, and Jaxx Mott.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Edith Mott, and his favorite grandpa, Harry Rogers.

Pallbearers: Billy Mott, Michael Absher, Jacob Plush, Cody Plush, Ryan Locke, and Ella Mott.

Honorary Pallbearers: Serenity Mott, Brody Absher, Maverick and Laramie Plush along with the Employees of Geeding Construction & South Fork Group that are more like family.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Trout Funeral Home between 8:00AM and 5:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Central Baptist Church in Ponca City, OK. Burial will immediately follow at Newkirk Cemetery in Newkirk, OK.
