Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. 505 W. Grand Ave. Ponca City, OK 74601.

Margie Lea (Padgett) Kothe was born on February 18th, 1944 to Raymond Ellis Padgett and Jaunita Margaret (Murphy) Padgett in Ponca City, OK.

She was the second of five children with sisters Mary Melvina, Edna Pearl, Edith Anna and brother Raymond “Buck” E Padgett Jr.

Her first home was in Osage County on the 11 mile road just north of Highway 60 near present day Kaw Dam. Around 1st grade they moved into Ponca City to a house on 13th St just north of South Ave for a year or so before moving to 510 S Perry St. She attended Ponca City schools through graduation.

Margie married Larry G Kothe on April 14th 1961. They had a son, Larry “Deano” G Kothe Jr, on July 6, 1962 and a daughter, Michelle Yvette Kothe, on October 20 1963. In early 1970 the family moved to the Kothe home on what is now Joe Colby Road near the 9 Mile Road. This was her home for the rest of her life.

Between Deano and Michelle’s school activities, 4H and plenty of nieces and nephews visiting, her home was fun, happy and loving.

Margie went to work for United Postal Service in 1978 and retired from them in 2000.

She enjoyed working in her yard, visiting garage sales with Larry and Michelle, music concerts with Michelle and festive flower events with her Sister-In-Law Luella (Skillern) Keeler. Some of her happiest times were enjoying her grand children and great-grandchildren.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Jaunita, sisters Mary Melvina, Edna Pearl, Edith Anna, brother Raymond Jr and her daughter Michelle Yvette.

She will be terribly missed for her loving, friendly, caregiving attitude to family and friends. We are happy that she is reunited with Michelle, her siblings, mother and father along with other in-laws and friends.
