He wanted to live until he was 84 years old. The entire family gathered around him and sang Happy Birthday. He passed after each family visited with him. Larry was a lifelong resident of Tonkawa.

He grew up on the farm east of Tonkawa. Upon retiring, he and Betty moved into the city of Tonkawa. Larry was born June 26, 1942, in Winfield, KS to Percy and Edna Davis. He was a devoted father, husband, and loved by all of his nine grandchildren. His beloved dog Daisy passed a few weeks before Larry. Larry had many occupations that include farming, working at Blackwell Zinc, working in the oilfield, dozer work, welding on Kaw Dam and also became a CNA, but his love was the metal scrapping business. He retired and turned the business over to his son. On December 2. 1972 He married Betty Reints and was blessed with three children who in turn gave him nine grandchildren. His children and grandchildren were his life. His hobbies were hunting and fishing, and he loved taking the grandchildren fishing or just talking to them on the phone. Larry, although blind, spent much of his days listening to sermons and using his Bluetooth to read Bible scriptures. He also loved listening to old country and western songs which gave him joy and peace and spending time at the casino.

Larry is survived by his wife Betty, his children Jeff and wife Mireya, Tracy and husband Richard, and Michelle and husband Jimmy. His grandchildren Hazi Davis, Connor Davis, Tanner Davis, MacKynze Davis, Torrie Simmons, Abigail Simmons, Ashton Linton, Savannah Linton and Easton Linton. Twin brother Garry Davis and wife Dorothy Davis and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Percy Davis, brother Gordon Davis, sister Nina Lee Flattery, nephews Gordon Davis, Jr and Chris Flattery.
