Judy Mitch

Judy Winona (Bales) Mitch, 75, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on July 21, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Ponca City. Burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Judy was born on February 12, 1951, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to James and Ruth (Hensley) Bales. She married the love of her life, Ted Mitch, on October 6, 1967, and together they built a life and family. They raised their two daughters in Woodward, OK and in 1995 they moved back to Ponca City.

Judy was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in her home, which she kept spotless and welcoming for family and friends. She was an active member of the Living Waters Women’s Group and Ponca City Foursquare Church where she found fellowship and purpose. Judy cherished time with her family above all else, She treasured the years watching her two girls grow up into amazing, strong, beautiful women and was proud to have gained two amazing son in-laws. She loved being surrounded by her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and made it a priority to attend as many of their activities and events as she possibly could. In her free time, she loved going to garage sales and thrift shops, always on the hunt for a good bargain.

Judy is survived by her husband, Ted Mitch of Ponca City; daughters Christina Waggoner (Greg) of Woodward, and Shawndra Sheik (Kelsey) of Newkirk; brothers James Bales of Ponca City, and Kurtis Bales of Tonkawa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth Bales, and her sisters, Peggy Owens, Cozetta Hand, LaVanda Garrett, and Patsy Owens.
