John LeRoy Albers

John "LeRoy" Albers 88, of Newkirk, OK left this earth on September 10th, 2026. Born on March 20th, 1938, Betty "Aileen" McFall & John Albert Albers. LeRoy was the first of five children. He worked on his aunt & uncle's farm in Nardin along with his brothers and sister. He was in the Army and a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion. He began his career with Sooner Power Plant, now known as OG&E. He enjoyed golf and bowling. LeRoy was an avid OU fan, if you knew him, he was always wearing his OU attire and yelling Boomer Sooner. He also enjoyed Nascar racing and the Dallas Cowboys.He survived by his loving daughter Pam Peters and son in law Rian Peters and his 2 furry companions Hunter and Brownie, many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife Margie Albers, his mother Aileen Albers and father John Albert Albers, brothers, Gerald Albers, Max Albers, Jay Albers and his sister Nancy Albers.Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial 2016 N. 14th, Ponca City, OK. Cremation is in effect; there will be a private burial. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 11:00 am - 1:00 at Carol & Kay Sheid Senior Citizens & Community Center. Please wear your OU attire. In lieu of flowers, donate to the charity of your choice.
