Eugenia “Genie” Lee Jordan, 78, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on August 25, 2026, in Ponca City. Viewing will be held on at Trout Funeral Home on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Ponca City, OK. Burial will immediately follow at Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home& Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Genie was born on August 6, 1948, in Borger, Texas, to Lloyd “Bill” and Peggy Shafer. She devoted her life to caring for her home and family as a homemaker.
Genie loved visiting casinos, spending time with her family, and shopping on Amazon. Her family fondly shares that packages continued arriving even after her passing-a fitting reminder of one of her favorite pastimes. Above all, Genie treasured her family and the memories they created together.
She is survived by her brother Charles (Chuck) and Jeanne Shafer of Oklahoma City; Son Gary Jordan and David Baez of Yukon; Daughter Christi Neilson of Ponca City; Daughter Shasta Akers of Yale; Grandchildren Taylor and Morgan Neilson of Ponca City; Hunter and Raevyn Neilson of Ponca City; Cameron Akers of Wilson, North Carolina; Kacie Akers of Bixby; Cayden Lewis of Yale; her great-grandchild, Lincoln Neilson of Ponca City; her great-nephew, Kingston Harris of Oklahoma City; and her niece, Stacey Leigh and Courtlan (Chip) Shafer-Harris of Oklahoma City.
Genie is preceded in death by her husband Gary R. Jordan, Parents Lloyd "Bill" and Peggy Shafer' and grandmother Elsie Crismon.
Genie will be remembered for her love of family, her joyful spirit, and the many special memories she leaves behind. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love and laughter she shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
