Ellen Altman

Ellen Altman, 87, passed away on October 1, 2026, in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was born on November 1, 1938, in Ada, Oklahoma to Victor and Bertha McVay. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Ellen graduated from Ada High School and worked and retired from Conoco Phillips in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She married BL Barton in Ada Oklahoma, and together they established a family. She was a member of the Bartlesville 1st United Methodist Church. Her kids and their families were her hobbies.

Ellen is survived by her brothers Vernon McVay of Lodi California, Jerry and Connie McVay of Perry, Oklahoma. Children, Barry and Beverly Barton of Oktaha, Oklahoma, Steve and Jill Barton of Easley, South Carolina, Linda Barton of Edmond, Oklahoma and Greg Barton of Owasso, Oklahoma. 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Victor A. McVay and Bertha McGowan/ Brandon, her husband BL Barton, husband Bob Altman and brother Victor McVay II.

A Family Grave side service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 2:00PM at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
