Elaine Ruth Hoober, 74, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, in Ponca City, Oklahoma.Elaine Ruth Hoober was born on May 21, 1952, in Washington, DC, and was adopted by Joseph Moller and Alice (Sandhimier) Moller. She graduated high school from Hillcrest Heights High School, in Hillcrest Heights, Maryland, where she participated as a Majorette. She would pursue her Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice through Seward County Community College / Liberal Kansas in 1988.Elaine would go on to work several jobs throughout her years: she would work for Woodworth Department Store, right out of high school. She would then go on to work for various departments in the federal government, such as the Small Business Administration, where she would often work in the Xerox room, until her doctor told her otherwise. After Elaine and Raymond moved to Blackwell in January 1998, she would work as a substitute teacher for Blackwell Public Schools.On October 26, 1974, Elaine would marry Raymond Hoober in Hillcrest Heights, Maryland, while he was staying at Andrews Air Force Base. They would have been married for 52 years, this year.Elaine enjoyed multiple hobbies, such as stamp cross stitching, working with plastic canvas, working on ceramics, and reading. As far as sports went, she enjoyed watching the OU Sooners and Washington Commanders (formerly, the Red Skins) play football. She was also a NASCAR fan, or at least a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. She loved collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia, and listening to The Beatles and classic country western music. She also loved dogs, and raised several chihuahuas over the years. Following their passing, she and Raymond would adopt a Shih Tzu they named "Daisy".Elaine was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Joseph and Alice; her maternal aunt and uncle, Andy and Ruth Sedlack; and a cousin, Elizabeth "Liz" Marrlow.She is survived by husband, Raymond; daughter, Alice "Terri" Comstock and husband Ralston, of Blackwell, Oklahoma; adoptive sister, Joann Hughson and husband Jack of Bonita Springs, Florida.A Rosary Service will be held at 6:30 PM, Monday, October 5, 2026, in the Roberts Memorial Chapel.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 6, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blackwell, with Father Balaswamy Bathini officiating. Burial to follow at 2:30 PM in Hoosier Cemetery.Casketbearers will be Ralston Comstock, Anthony Green, Sheldon Hanna, and Tessa Carter.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elaine's honor to St. Joseph Catholic Church c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
