Dale Edward Owen, 79, of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Perry, 1408 N 7th St, Perry, OK 73077.
Born on August 7, 1946, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Dale was the son of William Argus Owen and Anna-May (Lewis) Owen. He grew up with a strong work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life. Dale worked as a welder for Ditch Witch, where he was respected for his craftsmanship and dedication. He was known as a great welder and took pride in every job he completed.
Dale married the love of his life, Cynthia Porter on January 26, 1974. During their 52 years together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and laughter.
Dale found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. He loved taking them driving, watching them wrestle, and making memories together. He especially treasured time with his great-grandson, Reed. Dale also enjoyed watching college softball and basketball, loved classic westerns, drinking coffee, talking on the phone with family and friends, and working alongside his dad on the family farm.
Those who knew Dale will remember his positive attitude, his quick wit, and his ability to make everyone laugh. He rarely complained, choosing instead to focus on the good in life and bring joy to those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Owen of the home; his son, Kevin Owen and wife, Barbie; his daughter, Kim Swan; grandchildren, Kohl Owen, Kaleb Owen, Sayben Owen, Abby Owen, Macie Owen, Adrian Swan, and Zachary Swan; great-grandson, Reed David Owen; and brothers, Philip Owen and Billy Ray Owen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna-May Owen, and his son, Joseph William Owen.

God brought our precious Dad and Papa home last night. I have been dreading the thought of this day, but at the same time looking forward to the moment when my dad would no longer have to endure suffering or struggle. If you knew my dad, you know that God truly broke the mold when He created him. He was kind, generous, effortlessly hilarious, and completely devoted to God and to his family. He was also ornery, cantankerous, and full of vinegar! He may even be a little famous (or infamous) with the Perry Public Schools administration for being such a colorful character in the pickup line at the elementary-and for accidentally driving his car into the school pond! However you remember my dad, I'm certain those memories will bring a smile to your face. We will always remember him as the best Husband, Dad and Papa our family could ever have been blessed with. He was truly a treasure, and he will be deeply missed. Even in our grief, we are immeasurably thankful to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for bringing him home in the most peaceful way. We have the assurance that because of his faith in Christ, this is not goodbye forever. He is home.
