Cyrus “Leroy” Bennett

On October 29th, 2026 Cyrus Leroy Bennett, of Ponca City, passed away at the age of 90 in his home. A visitation and public viewing time will be on Thursday from 1pm to 7pm, with the family present from 5pm to 7pm. His graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Cyrus was born June 25th, 1936 in Nardin, Oklahoma to Henry Bennett and Mildred Bennett(Gaisinger). Cyrus attended Blackwell schools until the age of 12, when the family moved to Montgomery, Alabama. Cyrus was in ROTC in high school and joined the National Guard after he graduated, he then later joined the Air Force. Cyrus married Delphine Morris April 10th, 1959 in Wellington, KS. While in the Air Force, he and his family moved to multiple locations as he was transferred. Cyrus then retired from the Air Force in 1978, where he and his family settled down in Ponca City, OK.

Being a mechanic was a passion of his, he spent many hours in the garage working on projects.

Cyrus is survived by: Brother-in-law Tommy (Vicki) Morris: Sons Ronald Bennett of Wichita, KS, and Gary (Patty) Bennett of Aspermont, TX, and Daughter Laura Hopkins of Ponca City, OK: 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren

Cyrus is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, all of his siblings, one son and one son-in-law.
