Bonnie Jean Judd, 85, passed away early morning on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Overland Park, Kansas.Bonnie Jean Judd was born on July 20, 1941 to William H. Atwell and Mary Katherine Johnson in Lexington, Kentucky. The family would later move to Hamilton, Ohio, where Bonnie attended Hamilton High School, graduating with the class of 1957.Bonnie married Bernie Judd on February 8, 1964, in Pasadena, Texas, and they made their home in the Houston area. Bonnie raised her two children at home. She later worked with the family sporting goods store. Bonnie retired as a food service representative. Following retirement, they moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma, where she was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and volunteered at the Blackwell Regional Hospital for many years. Bonnie gained forever friends.Because Bonnie needed health care support, she moved to Raytown, Missouri with her daughter in August 2018. Bonnie worshiped at Lane Avenue Baptist Church.Bonnie enjoyed fishing, camping, and baseball. She had fun playing board games, watching old movies and reading. She entertained several art hobbies, including ceramics, poetry, photography and painting. Bonnie touched many with her birthday cards, notes of encouragement, clippings from magazines and silly trinket gifts. Bonnie spent time reading and studying the Bible. Bonnie had a heart for giving, helping and serving.Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Judd; her parents, William and Mary Atwell; her brother, James Atwell.She is survived by her son, John Judd; her daughter, Shiela Judd Wheeler and husband Jess Wheeler; grandson James Clay Smith Judd; grandson, Judd Wheeler.A public visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Roberts and Son Funeral Home.A Funeral Service will be held at 3:30PM, Friday, October 2, 2026, in the Roberts Memorial Chapel, Roberts and Son Funeral Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Donnie Hazelwood of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial to follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
