During their junior high and high school years, Ashley and Shane both worked for Ashley’s father at the Dixie Dog, where they learned the value of hard work and teamwork. Ashley and Shane shared strong Christian values and were baptized together at Second Baptist Church before their marriage. Ashley’s father officiated the marriage of Ashley to Shane Magnus on August 14, 2004, after they had known each other for several years. Together they built a loving home and shared 22 wonderful years of marriage.

Ashley devoted her life to education and taught in the Ponca City Public School System from 2004 until the present. She deeply loved teaching and enriching the lives of her students, including her own children, Thomas, Wyatt, and Addie. Ashley was honored as Teacher of the Year for 2018-2019.

One of Ashley’s greatest joys was watching her three little ones play sports. She also enjoyed reading, spending time with her children and students, decorating her home, planning parties, and working on creative projects with her hands. Ashley and Shane especially treasured time spent at the family farm in Kansas.
