Arquimedes Aguirre Dickinson, 84, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on July 21, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Arquimedes was born on March 12, 1942, in Pánuco, Veracruz, Mexico, to Auristel Aguirre Suarez and Teofila Dickinson Guzman. Raised with humble beginnings, he built a life defined by perseverance, hard work, and an unwavering devotion to his family. Through determination and self-discipline, he taught himself to read and write in both English and Spanish, demonstrating the resilience and resourcefulness that would characterize his life.
As a concrete finisher, Arquimedes earned the respect of those around him through his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. Nothing came easily to him, and everything he achieved was the result of determination, sacrifice, and countless hours of hard work. He willingly made those sacrifices to provide opportunities and a better life for his family, whom he loved deeply.
After coming to the United States, he built a life through hard work and determination, creating a lasting legacy for the generations of his family that followed.
Above all, Arquimedes was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest joy came from the family he helped build, and his legacy lives on through the generations who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Guadalupe Lujan Aguirre; his son, Auristel "Chito" Aguirre; and his parents, Auristel Aguirre Suarez and Teofila Dickinson Guzman.
He is survived by his children: Jose Aguirre and wife Marilu; Ana Pando and husband Maurilio; Amandi Marquez and husband Ruben; and Peta Trenary.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Andy Aguirre and wife Kaitlyn; Sylvia Aker and husband Richie; Veronica McWilliams and husband Andy; Julius Aguirre; Donnie McMillin and wife Rita; Teresa Smith and husband Clint; Devin Aguirre; Zachary "Zac" Pando; Trent Goldsmith; Brent Goldsmith and husband Matthew; Luke Trenary; and Mikaela Garrison and husband Caleb.
His cherished great-grandchildren include William "Willie" Aker, Bentley Aker, Boots Aguirre, Colt Aguirre, Cinch Aguirre, Lexis Ortiz, Lileana Ortiz, Landon Ortiz, Lynleigh Ortiz, Elara McMillin, Kenny Smith, Jared Smith, Wade Smith, Harper Goldsmith, Sofia Goldsmith, Huck Goldsmith, Collins Goldsmith, Brooks Garrison, and Selena Garrison.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 408 S. 8th Street, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Arquimedes will be remembered for his strength, steadfast determination, and the sacrifices he made to ensure his family was cared for. His example of perseverance, faith, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
