Corporate Health Challenge

Welcome to May, when Tornado Alley spins up, and we all remember we had New Year's resolutions... briefly. Like a Snapchat gone by mid-January. But fear not, because nothing says "personal growth" like a little public humiliation, also known as the Corporate Health Challenge.

It's that magical time of year where mild-mannered coworkers clock out at 5 and somehow turn into fitness warlords by 5:15. We've got your categories: Step Master, Weight Loss, and Water Intake, also known as "how far are you willing to go to beat your coworkers and still look professional doing it?"

Big goals. Big confidence. Absolutely no plan.

Then week one hits and reality walks in like it owns the place. Fran has been quietly stocking the breakroom like it's a sugar-funded social experiment. You grab one innocent snack and suddenly you're scheduling a "just to be safe" pre-diabetes test.

Meanwhile, HR, who we assume never leaves their office, is apparently training for marathons all while attending every single Zoom meeting. No one has witnessed this activity, yet somehow, they've logged 18,000 steps before lunch.

Meanwhile, you're over here counting the steps to the breakroom and wondering if coffee counts as hydration.

And then there's Mark. Mark took "increase your water intake" as a personal challenge against human biology. At this point, his office isn't relocated near the bathroom... it is the bathroom. If you need him, just knock twice and slide the report under the door.

And you? You're over here holding a coffee in one hand wondering if it counts as hydration and a granola bar in the other hoping for the best.

But that's what makes this beautiful - minimal motivation, a lot of questionable choices and just enough competition to make you rethink every donut, every skipped walk, and every time you said, "I'll start Monday."

So, let's get after it! Stay hydrated, get your steps in and remember it's not about being the best. It's about doing slightly better than Mark's bladder.
